Some good places to start include the following books, of which we have in the library:
- Coin Collecting for Dummies - I'm not a fan of the title, but I have to say the information they present is in a readable manner, which is helpful for people who are just learning about a subject. The book has a companion website that has good information as well, including recommended magazines to read.
- The Coin Collector's Survival Manual
- Coin Collecting 101
- The Official 2014 Black Book Price Guide to United States Coins
The library also subscribes to Coins magazine, which describes itself as "a hobby leader in providing collectors with important and timely information key to making wise decisions on what to collect and how to collect."
